The school choice debate has taken center stage as more parents seek educational options for their children, especially in Black and Brown communities. Minority parents often turn to charter schools as an alternative to underperforming school districts. Governor Murphy, who has been at odds with charter school advocates, recently reversed course and announced approval of 11 of 14 requested charter school expansions.
