Reverend Dr. David Jefferson, Sr., Esq.

Rev. Dr. David Jefferson, Sr., Esq is the senior pastor of the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Newark, NJ. A graduate of Grambling State University, he also holds a Juris Doctor degree from Capital University and a Master of Divinity from Drew University as well as a masters from MIT, where he was a MIT Sloan fellow.. HIs affiliations include serving as chairman of the National Action Network for New Jersey; and serving on the Council of Choose Healthy Life, a faith-based not-for-profit addressing health disparities in Black and brown families. He advocated for Blueprint Capital Advisors—a Black-owned New Jersey financial management firm, to manage NJ State employee pensions. He has conducted town halls with legislators and nationally renowned persons in the Black community, with a particular focus on economic justice for Black people.
